WELCOME BACK ! !
Dear Belles and Parents,
Hope you have had an awesome summer and have been able to enjoy
quality family time. Now....we are ready to start dancing and get
ready for the upcoming Belle year and Football season--Go Roos!
Thanks to all the Belles, Parents, and Executive Board for the
fabulous summer activities--the Golf Tournament, Rodeo, and Peach
Festival. We appreciate your hard work and support so much!! 2009-10
promises to be the best year ever thanks to you!! Here are some updates so we can get off to a fabulous start!
1) Practices start on Monday, August 3rd at WHS. Times 8-12 and 1-3.
Please bring a sack lunch and wear dance clothes and shoes.
2) Dance and Social Officer meeting-Sunday, August 2 from 2-5 at MRs.

3) If you have not already done so.......bring August 3rd a) World's Finest Chocolate money still owed b) Forms for the year (packet given to Belles in May) c) $200 camp payment
4) Dr Robbins and his staff will be at WHS for Physicals on Wed.
August 5th at 8 AM. $25 and have checks made out to Blue Belles.
Don't forget physical form signed by parent! Other athletes, dance
team members, cheer etc may also get physicals so if you have
friends or siblings that need one for athletics--bring them on!
5) The Belles will be participating in a Ropes Course on Friday,
August 7 from 8-4 at the Ft Worth YMCA. Transportation is provided.
6) BBPC meeting on Tuesday, August 4th at 6:15 pm. Lots of info
provided to get the year off to a great start!
7) Board approval and final plans are underway for the New York trip
March 6-9, 2010. First deposits will be due in September so be
making your plans now as to whether your Belle and family members
will be going. Optional trip but one that is well worth the effort!
8) Extreme Dance Camp is August 10-12.
That's all for now, but wanted to let you know that Ms. Duck and I
have been working hard to make this the best Belle year ever. To
make that happen--remember, "It's all in the D-tails!!!" See you

1. Appreciation: Brenda Dukeman, parents and Belles who
worked Rodeo.
Made $2000 for general fund and what a great public service
endeavor!

Executive Board for their outstanding work and planning this
summer.
Welcome! Ms. Laura Duck is joining the Blue Belle and WISD
family as Assistant Director for the Belles, director for JV
JAZZ and Tison Allstars. She has an extensive drill
team/dance background with specialties in kick, pom and
jazz. She has a dance degree from Texas Christian University
and was a South Grand Prairie Chey-Anne and a 2 year Trinity
Valley Community College Cardette. She was the Cardette
CAPTAIN and she is a choreographer and adjudicator for
SHOWTIME International. We welcome Ms. Duck and her dog,
Paisley. Be sure to introduce yourself if you have not
already met her!
Invoices- Were sent home with Belles on August 3rd. Summer
payments, Peach Festival, Golf, and WFC earnings have been
added to accounts. Please check and make sure you have been
credited for all earnings and payments you have made and
charged for all uniforms received. Every payment should be
receipted—please keep yours for easy reference. Thanks!
3. Forms to Fill Out: Each Belle was given a packet in MAY
to fill out with important Belle information. It included
medical history forms, extra curricular guidelines, and
permission to ride the school buses. Must be returned by
Thursday, August 6th!!!.
If your Belle needs a physical, we will have a Dr Robbins
and his staff at WHS on Wed. Aug. 5th. Physicals are $25.
All Belles must have a physical BEFORE camp Aug. 10th.
4. Ropes Course: One of the Belles goals this year was to
increase team unity and fellowship…SO< we are going to
participate in a Low/High Ropes Course on Friday, Aug. 7th.
It is a mandatory activity and we will leave at 8 Am and
return by 2:30. Belles should wear "Belles" Camo shirt,
black soffee shorts, and tennis shoes. Bring $5-10 for lunch
money.

5. Extreme Dance Line Camp- August 10-12. Schedule and info
packet will be sent home on Thursday, August 6th. You will
drop your Belle off at the WHS Main gym with luggage on
Monday, Aug. 10th at 7:45 AM.
*Belle Cell phones will be turned off during the day and
evening activities—they should not be calling you or anyone
else unless there is an emergency and they have permission
from me. They will have time late at night and early morning
to make calls.
*Please—no visitors until Show-offs on Wed at 4:00—WHS Main
gym. This is a time for learning dances and team bonding.
Enjoy your time off—we’ll see you on Wed afternoon!
*Class Schedules & Registration: We will have a time for the
Belles to go and pick up class schedules and tour campuses
during camp. You do not have to do this for them but may go
with them if desired. I need some 9th grade parents to help
take the Freshman to NGC on Wed. They will let them register
1st at 8:30 AM. (srs/jrs on Mon, soph on Tues, fresh on
wed—all at 8:30 AM)
6. 2009-10 Proposed Calendar: The first draft is done. Dates
and times are subject change. Please plan work and events
according to performances and practices if possible. Thanks!
7. Belle Website: www.weatherfordbluebelles.com Can’t attend
a meeting or need some information? Check out the Blue
Belles website for updated info and events. Click on
Members/BBPC to see Director’s notes from meetings and
updates from the Executive Board. Let us know how we can
help you get information!
8. Sunrise Ceremony: Friday, Aug. 21st to Saturday, Aug.
22nd. More info to come later but plans are to meet Friday
night as a team at 7PM (Mrs. Carter’s house), have a team
meeting/party and then go to Squad houses for a sleepover.
All Belles will meet back at WHS at 6 AM on Saturday morning
for Sunrise Ceremony and breakfast. All parents welcome to
watch and enjoy breakfast. Breakfast will be served about
7:30 AM. Very special ceremony—You are welcome to attend and
watch. Over by 9:00 AM. Dance and Social officers are asking
for houses to host and parents to help with Friday night
activity—need vans, parent drivers and video cameras…Sound
intriguing?…
9. Freshmen Belles Bus shuttle during year: All Freshmen
Belles will report to WHS each day for practice. Bus
shuttles will take them to NGC at 9:05 AM. Bus shuttles are
also available on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to bring
them back to WHS for after school practice.
10. Blue Belle Memorial Scholarship Fund: If you have
someone you would like to honor or would like to give a
memorial (in memory of) anytime during the year, many Belles
and Forever Belles donate to the Scholarship Fund in lieu of
flowers. We have cards to send to the family designating
your donation. See Mrs. Carter for more details.
11. Sewing Committee: Can anyone help with sewing and
alterations? Let Patsy Wood or Jana Klein know. We may need
some light alterations on field dress.
12. New York Trip-March 6-9: Time is getting near to make
your first deposit for the New York trip! $250 deposit per
person on Sept. 15th. Give to Mrs. Carter with deposit form
(To be given at a later date). Deposits are non-refundable.
Balances to be paid on Oct 15th, Nov. 15th, and January
15th. Total cost of the trip is $1139 per person.
13. Candle Fundraiser: Starts the 1st week of school. Money
can be used to pay off accounts and for New York trip if
accounts are paid off. 50% profit per candle and it is a
pre-pay fundraiser.
14. Belle performances: Be sure to be decked out in Belle
apparel and cheer loud for your Belle and the whole team!!!
15. Blue Belles Car decals available: $5 each. See MS Duck
or Mrs. Carter
